Hinduism enjoys the distinction of being one of the oldest religions known to man. It is affectionately called Sanatan Dharma - Eternal Dharma- by its followers due to its founding principles being free of dogmatism and based on immutable truths that transcends the infinite plane of time. Its proliferation through the ages has created a complex "Religion of religions" in diversity, which while retaining the basic truths of its foundation, has become very complicated to understand.
The purpose of this book is to serve as a guide and companion for anyone who seeks to learn or practice Sanatan Dharma, in the hope that it will fulfill the needs of those who have had a life-long search for a better understanding of the essential aspects of this unique religion of openness and tolerance.
Significant concepts such as Dharma, Karma, Samsara, Maya, Atma, Paramatma and Moksha and their interrelationships are explained to provide a holistic view of this vast religion. Its elegant architecture is complimented and further emphasized by an explanation of the Gunas and their profound influence towards diverse human personalities.
Prayers, religious songs and translations have been included appropriately in various chapters along with sacred verses from the Bhagvad Gita and Ramayana.
